Finland’s leading international Arctic event The Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference will take place in May 2027 with a main theme “Our Arctic Home and Its Sustainable Future”.

Conference organizes invite participants to the Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference 2027 to discuss the Arctic from various angles that are critical in shaping the region today. The overarching focus of the event will be the sustainability of the Arctic, from the perspective of its inhabitants.

“The Arctic region is home to human and many other species — both now and for generations to come. The conference will highlight different perspectives on how we can ensure that the Arctic region remains a good place for everyone to live”, says Markku Heikkilä, Head of Science Communications at the Arctic Centre, and leader of the conference preparations.

This is the 8th time for the Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference. It has been organized every other year since 2013 in collaboration with the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland, City of Rovaniemi and number of different partners.

The Conference will last three days, and it starts with a pre-event Arctic Innovation Forum on Monday 24th of May 2027 hosted by the Lapland Chamber of Commerce.

“The Arctic Innovation Forum is a half-day event bringing together business, research and regional development actors from across the Arctic. The forum will explore how Arctic expertise, research and innovation can be turned into new partnerships, sustainable growth and business opportunities”, says specialist Antti Eteläaho from the Lapland Chamber of Commerce.

Conference venues are Korundi House of Culture and Arktikum in Rovaniemi, Finland. The event is expected to attract 200–300 international participants.
