The 14th National Snow Seminar or “Pyryn päivä” brings together researchers and others interested in snow 29-30 October 2026 in Sodankylä, Finland. The theme of this year’s Seminar is “Snow in a changing climate”.

The seminar welcomes presentations covering a wide range of snow and cryosphere related topics, such as scientific snow and Arctic/polar studies, snow as a water resource, societal aspects of snow and winter, snow measurement methods and technologies, and snow-related arts and sports. The keynote speaker is prof.emer. Matti Leppäranta. The seminar is bilingual (Finnish and English).

Registration and abstract submission for the seminar is open until 2nd October 2026.
