Arctic Centre’s Science Communications
The Arctic Centre’s Science Communication team and library compile, popularize and communicate Arctic issues to experts, decision makers and the general public.
In addition to research, the dissemination and popularization of scientific knowledge is a key part of the Arctic Centre’s activities.
Arctic Centre’s science communications unit promotes the visibility and social impact of the Arctic Centre’s activities and aims to increase public interest in the Arctic region in general.
The science communications unit organizes events, coordinates visits to the Arctic Centre and other stakeholder outreach, is responsible for media relations and supports researchers and research project in communications activities.
Science communications and education is also implemented in the science exhibition located in Arktikum House. The library at the Arktikum House is open for everyone.
The Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference
The Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conferences are Finland’s leading international Arctic events, organized every second year by the Arctic Centre, University of Lapland and the City of Rovaniemi.
The aim is to create Arctic events filled with quality and relevance, to offer meaningful Arctic discussions and meetings and thus spread the real Arctic Spirit of Rovaniemi.
The next Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference will take place in May 2027.
