A single snowflake crystal is always hexagonal (six-sided) because of its building material: water. Snow crystals can form in dozens of different shapes.

For this craft, you will need:

  • Plain A4 or A3 paper
  • Sharp scissors
  • A pencil
  • A snowflake template

This craft is recommended for children aged 10 and over, as it requires careful cutting and folding.

In the Arktikum Science Centre, you can also create your own snowflakes and learn more about the physics of snow.
