Finnish Cultural Foundation’s Lapland Grants to the Arctic Centre
The Finnish Cultural Foundation’s Lapland Regional Fund awarded 31 grants this year, in total 509 000 euros. Six grants were awarded to researchers, artists and projects at the University of Lapland, 160 000 euros in total.
Among the grant recipients are visiting researchers
Marco Ghisetti and Tom
Royer from the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland.
Funding for doctoral research:
M.Sc. Marco Ghisetti, a
doctoral thesis on the impact of climate change and the war in Ukraine on the
security of Finland and Northern Europe, The Lapland Research Fund 32 000
euros.
M.Sc. Tom Royer, a doctoral thesis on legal approaches to
commercial space ports in the Arctic region, Mikko and Sirkka Jokela’s Fund 11 000
euros.
