“The Future of the Arctic Human Population – Migration in the North” introduces the challenges of Arctic migration by exploring the structures and conditions of integration from migrants’ and immigrants’ perspectives.

The book was edited by Dr. Nafisa Yeasmin, Prof. Satu
Uusiautti, Prof. Timo Koivurova and Prof. Timothy Heleniak and focuses on four
themes: immigration and labor market; gender and Arctic migration; the role of local
languages and education in integration; and outward migration from the
Arctic.

The articles in the book bring up regional differences in
policies and their implementation. How to promote innovative solutions to the
challenges of cultural differences, acceptance, integration into local communities,
and joining the labor market by acknowledging also the perspectives of
well-being?

Contributors of the articles are international top
researchers. The multidisciplinary book is serves all interested in the theme of
Arctic migration. It also can be used as a text book or additional reading in the
courses of social and behavioral sciences.
