The Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference will take place from May 5–7, 2025, and the deadline for session proposals is fast approaching. Submissions are welcome until January 24, 2025 – don’t miss your chance to contribute!
This year’s conference theme, “Elements of Arctic Security,”
explores security in the Arctic through diverse perspectives, including human,
environmental, and climate security, as well as traditional state security. Recent
geopolitical developments underscore the importance of fostering a comprehensive and
nuanced discussion.
The conference begins on Monday, May
5th, with a variety of pre-events including content related to Arctic culture. The
first main conference day, May 6th, will take place at the Korundi House of Culture
and include keynote speeches and panel discussions. On May 7th the program continues
at the Arktikum House with numerous scientific and thematic sessions.
Session proposals are particularly sought for Wednesday’s program.
Proposals may include oral presentations, panel discussions, or roundtable
conversations addressing various dimensions of Arctic security. Sessions are
typically 90 minutes long, with time allocated for questions and audience
engagement.
