Research Team: Arctic Governance
Our Research
The team conducts research on law and governance with relevance to the Arctic and beyond, with a particular focus on international organizations and institutions, questions of safety and security, ocean governance, the protection of the natural environment, climate change, sustainability and human rights.
Arctic governance is a multidimensional research object. Our aim is to render the complexity of Arctic governance more transparent and provide policymakers, scholars and other actors with a more holistic knowledgebase to make better informed and more responsible decisions.
Research Team and Networks
The international and interdisciplinary team brings together experts with a wide range of expertise and experiences. Using regional and global connections, we produce high-quality research that is not only relevant to the Arctic but also globally and take leading roles in the development of the different scientific disciplines that are joined in the research team.
The research team is led by Research Professor Timo Koivurova.
