The second volume of the AHDR – Arctic Human Development Report: Regional Processes and Global Linkages ¬¬– has just been released by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The first report was published in 2004.

The new 500 page report provides an update for the first AHDR
in terms of an assessment of the state of Arctic human development; to highlight the
major trends and changes unfolding related to the various issues and thematic areas
of human development in the Arctic over the past decade; and, based on this
assessment, to identify policy relevant conclusions and key gaps in knowledge, new
and emerging Arctic success stories.

The contents of the
report are written by a large number of leading international experts. From the
Arctic Centre of the University of Lapland, research professor theTimo Koivurova has
been lead author on Legal systems and research professor Bruce Forbes on Resource
management. Besides them, many other experts from the Arctic Centre and from other
Finnish universities have contributed to the report.

The report can be uploaded
