Getting to Rovaniemi

There are several daily flights from Helsinki to Rovaniemi by Finnair  and Norwegian . You can also travel from Helsinki to Rovaniemi by train . Rovaniemi airport is located at about 10 km to north from the city centre, railway station around 1.5 km.

In addition to taxis, Uber and Bolt operate in Rovaniemi.

University is located at walking distance from hotels located in the city centre. Also, local busses nr 2, 4, 6 and 8 drive between city centre and university. Timetables, routes and prices: www.linkkari.fi

Conference venue

The main conference venue is at the University of Lapland (Yliopistonkatu 8, Rovaniemi). The conference dinner will be held at another venue near the city center. The location for Monday’s workshop has not yet been confirmed.

Accommodation

A limited hotel room block has been reserved for conference participants at a negotiated conference rate in six hotels in Rovaniemi.     

Bookings for Hotel Aakenus, Arctic City Hotel and Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna should be made via registration form/Rovaniemi-Lapland Congresses.

Bookings for Santa’s Hotel Santa Claus, Scandic Rovaniemi City and Scandic Pohjanhovi should be made directly to the hotels. Links and instructions below.

Booking via conference registration form
The prices below are only for those bookings done via Rovaniemi-Lapland Congresses.
The price is per room per night and includes a buffet breakfast, service and VAT. The hotel quotas are valid until 8 April 2027.

Hotel Aakenus: standard single room 90 €/night, standard double room 105 €/night

Arctic City Hotel: Classic room 1-2 persons per room 129 €/night

Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna: standard single room 140 €/night, standard double room 165 €/night

NB! The registration fee does not include accommodation, hotel fees are to be paid directly to the hotel onsite. If you prefer invoicing, please inform us in the registration form. We must check the possibilities of invoicing from each hotel. Hotels may send link to complete the credit card guarantee in advance.

Cancellation policy for hotel bookings made via registration form/Rovaniemi-Lapland Congresses:

• Cancellations must be made in writing to Rovaniemi-Lapland Congresses four (4) days prior to the planned date of arrival at the latest.
• All bookings cancelled later than this or bookings not cancelled at all will be invoiced in full.
• Without prior notice of late arrival, hotels have the right to give a reserved room away after 18:00. Please inform of late arrival in the note-field of your booking.

Scandic Rovaniemi City and Scandic Pohjanhovi

We are happy to offer your guests a discount on room reservations at Scandic. Reservations can be easily made through the following link: BOOK WITH SCANDIC. Through the link, guests can directly book rooms at a discounted rate.

Guests can choose their preferred room type and receive an additional discount when paying for the reservation upon booking. The cancellation policy for individual bookings depends on the booking type chosen by the guest. To confirm the reservation, guests must provide a valid credit card information. Rooms are subject to availability and should be booked 10 days before arrival at the latest
