University Researcher starting 1 March 2018 Field: Multidisciplinary research related to global change.

The duties of the researcher are as follows:

• Independent and influential research on northern regions
• Acquisition of supplementary research funding and management of research
projects
• Provision of instruction in the Arctic Studies programme and
supervision of doctoral students in the relevant area of research
•
Innovative publication of science in the exhibitions of the Arctic Centre
• Popularisation of science

The following
qualifications and merits are required:

• Doctor’s
degree in biosciences or environmental science
• Academic proficiency
and expertise in the relevant field demonstrated through publications
•
Fluent communication with decision makers and the general public
•
Demonstrated ability to acquire supplementary research funding and to lead research
projects
• Experience of research on northern regions
•
Excellent command of Finnish and English

The candidate is
to attach to the application his or her CV, list of publications, and research plan
(max. five pages) for the following three years. When making the appointment
decision, special attention is paid to the quality of the plan and to the way in
which the candidate’s research is linked to the other research activities of the
Arctic Centre.

The salary is based on the universities
salary system and its requirement levels 6–7 for teaching and research personnel.
Thereby the task-specific salary component is 3,340.77-3,851.33 euros per month. In
addition, the total salary includes a personal salary component amounting up to
46.3% of the task-specific salary component.

Lapin yliopiston Arktisessa
keskuksessa on haettavana

Yliopistotutkijan tehtävä 1.3.2018 alkaen
globaalimuutokseen liittyvässä monitieteisessä tutkimuksessa.

Tutkijan tehtäviin kuuluvat:

• itsenäinen
korkeatasoinen tutkimus pohjoisilla alueilla
• täydentävän
tutkimusrahoituksen hankinta ja tutkimusprojektien johtaminen
•
opettaminen Arctic Studies –ohjelmassa ja jatko-opiskelijoiden ohjaaminen omalla
tutkimusalallaan
• tieteen innovatiivinen julkistaminen Arktisen
keskuksen näyttelyissä
• tieteen popularisointi

Tehtävien menestyksellinen hoitaminen vaatii:

• tohtorin
tutkintoa bio- tai ympäristötieteissä
• julkaisuin osoitettua
tieteellistä pätevyyttä ja perehtyneisyyttä oman tutkimusalansa kysymyksiin
• kykyä kommunikoida päätöksentekijöiden ja suuren yleisön kanssa
• osoitettua kykyä hankkia täydentävää tutkimusrahoitusta ja johtaa
tutkimusprojekteja
• tutkimuskokemusta pohjoisilta alueilta
• erinomaista suomen ja englannin kielen taitoa

Hakijaa
pyydetään liittämään hakemukseensa ansioluettelo, julkaisuluettelo ja
tutkimussuunnitelma (enintään 5 sivua) seuraaville 3 vuodelle. Valintaa tehtäessä
kiinnitetään erityistä huomiota suunnitelman laatuun ja siihen, miten hakijan
esittämä tutkimus kytkeytyy Arktisen keskuksen muuhun tutkimukseen.

Palkkaus perustuu yliopistojen palkkausjärjestelmän opetus- ja
tutkimushenkilökunnan vaativuuskehikon tasoihin 6–7 (3340,77 – 3851,33 €/kk).
Lisäksi maksetaan henkilökohtaiseen suoriutu¬miseen perustuvaa palkanosaa, joka on
enintään 46,3 % tehtäväkohtaisesta palkanosasta.
