Päivi Soppela nominated as Chair of the Circumpolar Agriculture Association
Senior Researcher Päivi Soppela from the Arctic Centre
has been chosen for a Chair for a Circumpolar Agriculture Association (CAA).
Soppela’s research focus on how animals, human and livelihoods adapt to the global
change and Arctic circumstances.
The aim of the CCA is to
enhance exchange of knowledge and experiences between circumpolar countries in the
fields of agriculture and wild food resources. The partner countries are Iceland,
Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Greenland, the USA and Russia. The 10th Circumpolar
Agriculture Conference will take place in Rovaniemi on 13–15 March, 2019.
